Fratelli’s Delicatessen is the realization of a lifelong dream of two families. At the heart of Fratelli’s is Nan, the matriarch of Sunday dinners. When Nan’s granddaughter Shannon moved with her husband Dave to North Carolina, they wanted to start a restaurant that would recreate those dinners and the spirit of togetherness Nan inspired.
Enter RJ and Tyler, Nan’s great grandson’s, who had been honing their culinary skills for over a decade. In Fratelli’s, they saw a chance to recreate some of Nan’s favorite recipes and give everyone a taste of their hometown deli. In the wake of their mom Kim’s sudden passing, her spirit became their guiding light. Shannon, Dave, and the brothers teamed up to create something special that will live on forever.
In Shannon and Dave, the brothers had found true partners to realize their dream. For all four of them, Fratelli’s is not just a deli; it’s the embodiment of their mission to bring the nostalgic flavors of Chicago and New York to North Carolina.
But they knew it wouldn’t be enough to just replicate Nan’s recipes. For her, the kitchen was a place to gather, and everyone was welcome. Phones were turned off, disagreements forgotten, and old and new traditions thrived.
